Teaching
Chander is actively giving workshops and masterclasses, as well as teaching privately. The private courses are roughly divided in two levels:
INTRODUCTION/PREPARATORY LEVEL:
Development of reading skills, elementary drumset techniques, introduction to rhythm theory, knowledge of Western music styles.
ADVANCED LEVEL:
Complex polyrhythms, handtechniques (moeller, spivak + combined classical techniques), non-Western music styles, motivic development, articulation studies, coordination/accuracy and more. Private tuition programmes depend on level and wishes of the student.
Etudes
This is an example of a phrase that modulates from sixteenths to quintuplets. It has an ambitus of 18 beats, (3 times 6/1, 2 times 9/4 or other, tons of possibilities...).
